CEO Message for September 4, 2020

Our Community of Courage
Labor Day is a time for us to reflect on the hardworking individuals and families who keep our country running. I also hope you will also take some time to honor and appreciate the hard working and at time sacrifices, that many throughout our #communityofcare have exhibited in recent months.
From frontline caseworkers and protective investigators continuing to go into communities and homes to ensure children are safe and healthy, to all the work our agencies are doing to help families stay strong during these challenging times, our workforce has also exhibited tremendous courage, dedication and resilience.
This is also why leadership from throughout our system continue to collaborate and find new ways to support our workforce and our families throughout the continuum of care. Its why we formed to the COVID-19 Leadership Taskforce with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). This is also why we’ve worked with partners like Nona Scientific and various other partners to continue procuring critical PPEs and coronavirus testing kits to be made available throughout our system of care.
Over the last 6-months, we have been able to distribute tens of thousands of pieces of personal protection equipment (PPE) to our frontline workers who are in our communities continuing to visit families, treat children and youth and provide other critical services to children and families throughout Florida despite COVID-19 risks.
This is because the services and protections we provide don’t stop being needed just because there is a public health crisis. But we do have a responsibility to protect our workers and ensure their health and safety. The addition of the tests provided by Nona Scientific and the mobile testing units they have made available to FCC members, will further enhance the protections being provided to our workforce and the children and families we serve.
Please continue to stay safe. #InThisTogether
