FCC Update: A Look Back on 2018

As we begin to look forward to a new year, we are taking some time to reflect on all of the great events, accomplishments, and milestones we were able to achieve in 2018 within our #SystemofSuccess.
Below are just a few of the many things FCC was able to accomplish because of the support of our members, partners, and community.
FCC Members
2018 was a year of growth for FCC that included the addition of 21 newmembers! Going into 2019, the Coalition will also be welcoming 2 newmembers, bringing our total membership to 77.
We look forward to welcoming our new members and sharing more about them as we continue to strengthen and grow our #CommunityofCare!

FCC Communications
In 2018, FCC engaged with our community and members of FCC throughout the year. The FCC communications team worked diligently to provide updates through our weekly calls, e-newsletters, and social media.
We saw tremendous growth in all of our social media networks with our Facebook following totaling over 2,300, Instagram at nearly 700, and Twitter at over 1,200!
You can follow us to learn more about all of the great things we will be doing in 2019 on Facebook, Twitter @FLChildren1 and Instagram @FLCoalition4Children, or by subscribing to our newsletters at flchildren.org!

FCC Annual Conference
Our 2018 FCC Annual Conference saw a record-breaking 600+ attendees who all had the opportunity to attend four breakout sessions from our 20 presenters, a Party by the Pool, Awards Celebration, Legislative Town Hall, and many other exciting events.
We’re looking forward to our 2019 Annual Conference July 8-10 that is sure to be another must-attend event! Learn more at Conference.flchildren.org.

One Voice IMPAACT
In 2018, FCC continued to provide innovative trainings to youth within our #CommunityofCare through One Voice IMPAACT (OVI). Through our many events, workshops, and training opportunities, our OVI youth were able to pursue their passions, find their voice, and gain the skills they need to excel in the “real world.”
This year, we launched six IMPAACT sites across the state and served over 300 youth between the two My Jumpstart to the Real World events we held in June alone!
We look forward to all of the amazing things our OVI youth will be able to accomplish in 2019! To learn more about our OVI program, visit OneVoiceIMPAACT.com.

FCCF Hurricane Relief Fund
As we begin to near the end of the holiday season, our hearts remain with our FCC members and their foster families, caseworkers, staff, and all those in their care who continue to endure the devastating effects of Hurricane Michael. Our member agencies are working tirelessly to ensure that the daily needs of the families they serve are met, and through the FCCF Hurricane Relief Fund, we have been aiding them in doing so.
Thanks to the support of countless individuals, organizations, and our partners, we have been able to raise $123,418.73 to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Michael. We are thankful to have also been recently selected as one of the recipients of the Florida Disaster Relief Fund, established by Governor Rick Scott and Volunteer Florida. As part of the relief efforts, the FCC Foundation received $25,000.
As recovery and rebuilding efforts continue, the demand is greater than ever for continued support for the Florida Panhandle. Learn more about our relief efforts and how you can contribute to our members needing assistance at flchildren.org/hurricanerelief.

FCC Mobile App
One of the ways FCC stayed engaged with our members in 2018 was through the Florida Coalition for Children mobile app! Throughout the year, our app saw nearly 3,000 user sessions, providing our members and our #CommunityofCare with resources and information on how we serve Florida’s children and families. As well as how they can become engaged with advocating for our #SystemofSuccess through our built-in Voter Voice app!

Thank You To Our Legislators
Throughout 2018, FCC continued to advocate for a system of care that is well-resourced and empowers our members by providing them with the tools they need to achieve improved outcomes for the children and families we serve.
We had many champions within the Florida Legislature who helped us accomplish our 2018 legislative priorities, as well as legislators who joined us during our 2018 Rally in Tally, and at our Legislative Town Hall during our 2018 FCC Annual Conference.
We look forward to another great legislative session in 2019!
