Partnership for Strong Families is the lead agency for a community-based network in 13 counties in North Central Florida, providing services to ensure the safety, well-being and security of its children and families through foster care and related services. We are seeking a Placement Manager to join our team in Gainesville, Florida. This position is responsible for the supervision and management of Placement staff for the Partnership for Strong Families. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Programs.

Salary: $48,000 – $59,500

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the Placement unit Manager providing supervision and clinical oversight while ensuring children receive timely, accurate and complete assessments and are placed in the most appropriate setting.
  • Provide direct services for placement services.
  • Collaborate with the Family Care Teams and/or Case Management Agencies to provide appropriate services to children and families.
  • Participate as necessary in the Utilization Management process to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources and the most appropriate services for children and their families.
  • Provide administrative and management duties related to supervision of staff including interviewing and selection, training and orientation, supervision, performance management and development and scheduling.
  • As a Partnership for Strong Families representative, attend and participate as a voting member of the Children’s Multidisciplinary Assessment Team.
  • Collaborate with the Family Care Teams and/or Case Management Agencies to provide appropriate services to children and families.
  • Interpret and enforce policy, procedures, laws in regards to the placement of children as written by PSF and the state.
  • Participate in team meetings, client care and utilization reviews, and staff meetings.


The ideal candidate will have: a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; four years of professionally related post bachelor’s degree experience; a Florida Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and access to reliable transportation; and certification as a Child Protection Professional. Candidate must obtain Child Welfare Professional Supervisor certification within 12 months of hire. Preferred education and experience include: Master’s degree in a related field, experience training or supervising foster parents, MAPP or PRIDE certification, certification as a Child Protection Professional Supervisor, and experience or knowledge of special needs children.

This position requires frequent same-day travel and occasional weekend and night travel.
